Who we are.

We are a diverse group of individuals and businesses who believe that everyone who lives, works, plays or serves in Hendricks County should feel welcome and encouraged to participate in the life and growth of the community. 

Why we exist.

The Alliance exists to celebrate diversity in our county, connect for needs by individuals and groups, create opportunities to learn and advocate, so that TOGETHER we can create a community that is safe and inclusive for all residents and visitors. 

How we operate.

Alliance Structure:
All Alliance members gather at one annual meeting a year to contribute to visioning and planning. In addition, members can support the Alliance by giving of time, talent, or treasure in ways such as:
  • Planning an Alliance event as part of a planning team
  • Volunteering at an Alliance event
  • Donating to the Alliance 
  • Serving as an Action Team member for the Alliance
  • Leading an event around diversity for another organization and asking the Alliance to join as a co-sponsor
  • Sharing our member opportunities and events with your networks
As members of the Hendricks County Alliance for Diversity, you
  • Create opportunities for learning and discussion around diversity
  • Guide future Alliance topics and speakers for events
  • Ensure the health of the Alliance through our own diverse makeup
  • Create new opportunities to raise up diverse groups in Hendricks County
​The Hendricks County Alliance for Diversity is a fund of the Hendricks County Community Foundation.  The Hendricks County Community Foundation partners with generous people to realize their charitable goals while addressing community needs in meaningful and lasting ways.  The Community Foundation manages assets of over $13 million in a collection of funds created by individuals, families, businesses and organizations for charitable purposes. In 2016, the Community Foundation gave over $860,000 in grants to charitable organizations and scholarships to local students.
